Find site description
Near Aksipil approximately 15 miles NE of Khotan town on the southern arm of the Silk Road. Called 'Mazar-oili-Sai' (the sai of the Mazar lands) by locals in Stein's day. Yielded gold leaf, monkeys like those found at Yotkan, and Chinese coins dating to 11th c.
