Scope and content : No. 33 in I. Vincent's wallet captioned 'A-3 Cave 220 South Wall centre, early Tang'. With content print. 'A' refers to roll and '3' the negative number on the roll. Back of content print also give information that it shows centre of the south wall. Reproduced as plate 39 in Irene Vongehr Vincent, 'The Sacred Oasis' (London, 1953) with the caption, 'T'ang period wall painting: Cave 220 (P64). South wall. One of the largest paradise paintings at Ch'ien Fo Tung, this covers the entire wall, approximately 20 feet long. Enlarged print Photo 1231/4(39).
