Find site description
The Bai district, west of Kucha which is situated on the Kucha river on the northern arm of the Silk Road. (Serindia map no. 34, Innermost Asia map no. 12). Minute fragments from paper manuscripts showing Brahmi characters of Central-Asian type found. These may help determine origin of manuscripts from Kucha.
