Description
Scope and content : Rectangular stucco relief plaque showing a Buddha seated in a niche. The protuberance (ushnisha) on top of his head is clearly visible, his robe leaves the right shoulder bare. He is seated in meditation pose before a mandorla, his hands folded in his lap. The plaque is painted in green, red, black and white, but the colours have darkened considerably. The coarse fabric on the back of the object seems to have been added for additional stabilisation when the object was found.
