Description

Scope and content : Losty (Zwalf 1985: Cat. 71) suggest that this manuscript probably came from a stupa at Khadalik although it was then sold on to the Russian, German and British consular officials. He estimates that there are about 500 folios in total, 40 of which are in the British Library (Or.9613/1-40). He writes: 'the details of the colophon indicate that the commissioner (whose name is lost) and her family were of Indian origin but used the local language Khotanese.'
