Description

Scope and content : No. 44 in I. Vincent's wallet captioned 'Cave 242 (Ghandara)' but contact print has 242 crossed out and corrected to cave 259, with note 'P.111, reversed?'. Cave 259 is correct. Reproduced as Plate 20, Irene Vongehr Vincent, 'The Sacred Oasis' (London, 1953), with the caption: 'Seated Buddha in niche, extreme right of three such figures'. Enlarged print Photo 1231/4(20).
