Scope and content : Watercolour by James AtkinsonOne of a album of 17 pen-and-ink and watercolour sketches of views in Afghanistan from the Khyber Pass to Kabul. The album is inscribed in ink with the title Second Series of Views in Affghanistan from the Khyber Pass to Caubul.The album also contains a note by Atkinson's son referring to the fact that the sketches were intended to form a sequel to the series of lithographs of Atkinson's sketches, published as Sketches of Afghaunistan (London, 1842).
