Description
Scope and content : Ch. xxxvi. 001. Silk painting representing Avalokiteśvara (Kuan-yin), standing, without attendants, but with small donor on either side. Complete with border of fawn-coloured silk at top and sides, but lower end with Padmāsana and feet of fig. broken away; remainder in good condition. Good example of ‘Indo-Chinese’ type, and almost pendant to *Ch. 0088 in general treatment and in accessories.
