Description
Scope and content : Despatch from the Government of India Foreign Department (Frontier) to the Secretary, Political and Secret Department, India Office, dated Simla 27 May 1886, forwarding for the attention of the Secretary of State for India, copies of the Peshawar Confidential Diaries nos. 6 and 7, dated 12 and 18 May 1886 respectively. Includes reports from Kabul, as well as the translated texts of two letters from the Amir of Afghanistan to Amirulla Khan and Mahomed Aslam Khan of Thana in Swat. From Kabul the diary reports that the Amir has established a boarding for instruction in Islamic law. Also some remarks relating ot he work of the Afghan Boundary Commission.
