Description
Scope and content : After surrendering to the British in April 1841, the Ghilzai chief Gul Muhammad Khan was put under house arrest in Kabul, where Rattray sketched him in a caravanserai, seen on the right. Despite his fearsome reputation, Rattray found him very friendly.
