Scope and content : Photograph by John Vincent of Dunhuang Mogao Cave 254 in 1948 captioned in his list as 'A larger view of 1/8 [jataka of tigress] including a white pagoda.' The painting is that reproduced as Plate 18 (b&w) in Basil Gray, 'Buddhist Cave Paintings at Tun-Huang' (Faber: London 1959), which is captioned: 'The Jataka of the Tigress. About A.D. 475–500.'
