Description
Scope and content : Memorial chapel built for Hong Bian who died in 851. Statue of Hong Bian in front of painting of disciples and satchel on north wall. Memorial stone on the west. The cave entrance was sealed and painted over, though to be be c.1006, and the cave not rediscovered until 1900. It was packed with manuscripts, printed documents and paintings.
