Scope and content : A picture of the tantric deity Vajrasattva painted on an octagonal base composed of multiple pieces of paper pasted together, and mounted on a wooden stick with a point. Perhaps orginally placed on a shrine and/or used in a tantric empowerment ritual. Found in the Dunhuang Library cave, and probably dating to the tenth century, when the tantric Mahayoga practices were popular.
