Scope and content : Despatch from the Government of India, Foreign Department (Secret/Frontier) to the Secretary of State for India, in continuation of No. 135 of 1886, dated Simla 20 August 1886, forwarding further correspondence relating to the affairs of the Afghan Boundary Commission.Enclosures include: No. 3, dated 6 July 1886, report by Sardar Sher Ahmed Khan on present state of affairs in Badakhshan; No. 5, dated 3 August 1886, letter from the Amir acknowledging the Viceroy's letter of 21 July regarding intrigues between Russian and Afghan officers; No. 6, dated 5 August 1886, telegram from the Viceroy to the Secretary of State for India, recommending the recall of the Delimitation Commission and that the question regarding the Kham-i-ab district should be left for later settlement; No. 7, dated 6 August 1886, telegram from the Viceroy to the Secretary of State for India, offering suggestions on course to be followed in the event of Russia refusing to withdraw claim to Kham-i-ab district.
