Description
Scope and content : Watercolour, inscribed in ink above painting, 'A Hazaureh' and below, 'Plate XII to face page 1322' and in pencil on album page 'by native artist.'This is the original watercolour for plate XII, facing p. 483, in Mountstuart Elphinstone, Account of the Kingdom of Caubul (London, 1815), where Elphinstone notes that 'this is a good likeness of Kereem, a Hazaureh [Hazara] once in my service, but his face was more cheerful and good-humoured.'
