Scope and content : Printed copies of two translated letters from Mir Hashim, British news-writer at Kandahar, dated 6 and 12 September 1884. Among other news, records the 'delight' with which the people of Kandahar have heard the news of the appointment of the Boundary Commission and the unpopularity of the Amir: 'They believe that it all points to the return of the British army to Kandahar.'
