Scope and content : Watercolour by Robert Melville Grindlay (1786-1877), inscribed with title and signed 'R. M. Grindlay delt. Feby. 1813.' Also inscribed in pencil on album page, 'Hindu of Affghanistan.'This is the orignal watercolour for the illustration reproduced as plate V, facing p. 316, in Mountstuart Elphinstone, Account of the Kingdom of Caubul (London, 1815).
