The non-manuscript items brought to Paris by Paul Pelliot were initially kept at the Louvre but were transferred to the Guimet in 1945-6. Manuscripts from Pelliot’s expedition can be seen in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.

The collections at the Giumet contain statues, paintings and banners from various Silk Road sites, as well as Pelliot’s notebooks and plates of photographs taken during his expedition.
