The Omiya Library (大宮図書館), on the university’s Omiya campus in central Kyoto, holds the Otani collection named for Count Otani Kozui, the 22nd Abbot of Nishi Honganji.

The collection includes diaries, photographs, and botanical specimens from Count Otani Kozui’s missions to Central Asia in the early 20th century, as well as manuscript items, silk paintings and textiles. Other manuscripts and artefacts brought to Japan by Otani were dispersed among private and institutional collections across East Asia.
