Description
Scope and content : Notebook from Joseph Needham's visit to Dunhuang in October 1943 with notes and sketches from the caves he visited. He notes that the cave numbers he uses are those of Chang Shuhong and need conversion to the Dunhuang Academy numbers now in common use. The notebook is hand-made and consists of 65ff. of different paper, some handmade and possibly local, others cut from sheet of typescript. Stapled together with a thicker cover and blue cloth spine.
